Lindsey has the fun job of giving our dog Joey treats. She takes this very seriously and gets to choose which type of treat he has earned. In the last few weeks Joey has had to start doing tricks to earn his treats. We hope this will help Joey learn that he has to listen to Lindsey. It also makes Lindsey happy :) I overheard this little gem the other morning.
Lindsey: Okay Joey, I have your treat!
(Joey runs over to her and is at full attention)
Lindsey: Joey, this is going to be a tricky one.
(I watch out of the corner of my eye as I'm not sure where this is going)
Lindsey: Joey, sit. (he sits) Joey, lay down. (he lays down). Okay Joey, now this will be tricky.
(She steps towards him and places the treat on his nose)
Lindsey: Okay Joey, eat it!
Prior to this event her commands for him only included sitting and laying down. Apparently she had seen Jason do this last command with Joey. Most likely Jason prefaced it with "Okay Joey, this will be tricky."
